Stayr Somabay - Bay life home rentals

This is turning into one of the worst New Year's I've spent. We drove six hours to find an unclean house, worn-out furniture, and unprofessional staff. They kept asking for a QR code to let us in, then forgot it several times. We waited outside for an hour for someone to bring the keys, and they also forgot the extra bed we'd asked for. The house wasn't cleaned, and when we complained, nobody answered our calls. Then the guy started rejecting them. I'll never come back. I'd recommend Airbnb, at least there they'd treat us like humans.

They made us book at least three nights because it was high season, then required another 10k as a security deposit when we arrived. The water had rust in it that wouldn't clear, the mattress kept falling through, and the kitchen towels were disgusting, among other problems. The guest experience manager was obnoxious and kept calling without resolving anything or offering compensation. I wouldn't book again.

We were left waiting outside because nobody was there to let us into the unit, and the location hadn't been given to us beforehand. Getting through check-in took ages, and no one handed over the keys. Once inside, the place still wasn't ready. We'd asked for an extra bed in advance, but it arrived only after a long wait, and housekeeping had forgotten the sheets and covers. Renting through Stayr was a frustrating mess with poor communication and no organization. I wouldn't recommend it.

The change in management has taken the atmosphere in Soma bay downhill. It doesn't have the same vibe it used to, and once I heard management had changed, the problems made sense. Staff are rude and poorly trained, and the reservation team seems to have no idea about hospitality. I used to work with Julia, who was honestly the best. Now Abdallah has been unreliable, unprofessional, and rude, and I've had several arguments with beach security just to explain where we were staying and that we had free beach access, even though our house is right in front of it. I saw at least three fights involving different tenants, and the beach security overall needs changing. We were also refused entry to Mesca beach despite management confirming we had free access. The security there behaved worse than any I've seen in years. With rental prices so crazy now, I'd choose hotels going forward or avoid Soma bay altogether. I would NEVER stay with Stayr again. It's just sad.
