Titanic Resort & Aqua Park

We only stayed one night before being moved to the Titanic Royal, which was the hotel we’d booked. The staff were very friendly, the room was clean and the shower was fantastic. Some parts, especially around the aqua park, looked a little tired. The bread made by the lady there was delicious and a real highlight. The food was good too, and it was brilliant for kids.

The water slides and kids’ pools were a big hit, with something for all ages and hardly any queues. We also enjoyed the New Year’s Eve gala party, and I thought the food selection was good for our family of two adults and three children aged 13, 10 and 7. The sister hotel across the road has beach access, with a free shuttle, and you can go snorkeling there. I’d recommend this hotel. The first impression was good: the hotel looked nice, and the onsite waterpark stood out. Rooms were spacious, but ours could have been cleaned more thoroughly. Some areas were already dirty when we arrived. The beds were made, but the floors weren’t cleaned unless we asked. Lifeguards and most restaurant staff were polite and approachable. Some bar staff and other employees came across as rude or dismissive unless they were being tipped. One manager, whose name I can’t remember but who had light green eyes, was very helpful and polite. The entertainment could use more energy and be much better overall. Some team members looked as if they didn’t want to be there, though others were lively. Shows didn’t last long and weren’t great. Alcoholic drinks weren’t very good, but Coke, Fanta, juices, coffee and bottled water were fine. We got ill, but can’t say whether it came from the hotel or the excursions we went on. It felt like a 50/50 chance it would happen in Egypt.

Ahmed from the kids’ bar and Ammar at the pool bar were the people who made the stay better for us. Ahmed would come over and chat with us, and we really liked how friendly he was. Ammar made sure we could relax and brought drinks whenever we wanted. The food and drinks were good, the hotel was very clean, and housekeeping was amazing. The rest of the experience was a real disappointment after my great visit to Hurgada last year. Reception didn’t seem to care about problems and was unhelpful, leaving us feeling unsafe and uneasy about how serious issues might be handled. The main lobby bar staff were rude, and one laughed when our child got alcohol in their eye after they splashed it at them. Our room couldn’t fit a family of four, and they never fixed the problem, so we were all crowded into one room. The slippery floors are a health and safety concern, especially with people walking in and out of the pools. The tiles don’t feel safe. Check the children’s heights for the aqua park: my daughter was just under 120 cm and couldn’t use any of the big attractions, which was a huge disappointment because that was why we booked. The kids’ animation team looked bored and uninterested in the children. If you want a good hotel, I’d highly recommend El Karma. They go above and beyond.

Everything else was amazing, but I’m concerned about cleanliness. The sheets should be washed in hot water at 60°C because there seemed to be quite a few bedbugs. I got home a week ago and still have red bumps on my body. Please improve the hygiene and cleanliness standards.
