Viva Blue Resort and Diving Sharm El Naga (Adults Only)

We tried the Extra Divers dive center and had a wonderful time on several house reef dives, a Zodiac outing, and a boat trip from Makadi Bay to the "Panzer" dive site. There's also evening entertainment with different acts, plus a pool, ping-pong table, and dartsboard. Set out in the desert, this hotel is all about peace and quiet. Staff are friendly, rooms are spacious, housekeeping comes daily, and the chefs clearly know what they're doing. The food was excellent.

I've stayed in many Hurghada hotels over the past 15 years, and this was the worst. People walk barefoot in the restaurant, which is unhygienic, and the staff seem miserable and unwilling to help, often on their phones or eating. The chefs were the exception. Our room is large, but cold air comes through the windows and doors, making it drafty. Drinks from the fridge cost extra. Teenagers stay here too, so it isn't adults-only, and this definitely doesn't feel like a four-star hotel. I'm looking forward to going home.

Everything else, including the food and rooms, was okay. But the two bartenders at the coffee machine bars were rude, unfriendly, angry, and lazy. Their faces looked hateful when they answered, and if you complained they'd put on a very fake smile. They didn't fit with the rest of the hotel, and I felt uncomfortable around them.

It's not a luxurious hotel, but it's quiet and lovely for a vacation. The rooms are big, clean, and comfortable, the food is delicious, and the staff are kind. There are two pools and a small coffee bar on the beach. What sets the place apart is its large coral reef, one of the most beautiful I've seen in Egypt. That's why I'd come back.
