Omar made my three nights here as a solo female traveler. He’s welcoming, reassuring, patient, and good humoured, speaks excellent English, and somehow communicates well with guests from everywhere. He knows a lot about travel and offers the best excursion deals he can. For my early starts, he arranged breakfast boxes and made sure the driver was waiting. He’ll even call to wake you if you need it. My private room was spacious, comfortable, and spotless, and the prices are unbeatable. There’s a nice rooftop to relax on, and the wifi works well in reception. The area felt a bit intimidating at first, but it’s actually perfectly safe, especially with Omar looking out for everyone. You can walk to trains and buses, Luxor Temple, the corniche, the bazaar, and affordable places to eat. Stay there, you won’t regret it.

The street from the main area is intense for about 200M. I spent much of my stay trying to ignore everything on the way in, headphones on, including a horse tethered to a rubbish bin. If you can shut out the world for that short walk, the hostel itself is fantastic. It was so cheap, my private room was very clean and well equipped, and I felt safe there. The rooftop was a great place to sit after a day in Luxor, and reception staff were very friendly. I recommend it.

Omar was a great help with my flexible stay. He got me onto a shared West Bank tour and arranged a private car for a day tour at a good price. Very helpful and nice host. My private room had plenty of space, a small balcony, an armchair, a hot shower, and all the basics. It’s not on the lift landing, but staff helped carry my luggage upstairs. Breakfast on the rooftop was relaxing, with classic pita and omelette.

The host was incredibly helpful, and the rooms were clean. Breakfast was good, too. When we checked out, they let us leave our bags at the hostel while we explored, and said we could still use the bathroom and rooftop shower. It’s a lovely place right in the city, close to Luxor Temple and the Nile.
