The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent. The Nile cruise itself was a pleasant, peaceful ride and the boat was generally good. The tours cost far too much, though you can arrange your own private tour for less than half the price if you search online. They also added $3 for fuel because diesel prices had gone up. I can accept petty haggling like that in a tuktuk, but on a western branded luxury cruise it felt penny-pinching and hurt the brand’s reputation. Imagine checking into a Movenpick hotel and then being asked for another $3 to cover the electricity meter.

The food was bland and uninspired, with every meal served as what seemed to be the same buffet. Tours were poorly organised and they didn’t provide water on any of them. There were lots of children onboard who weren’t being controlled, and they treated the whole ship as their playground all day and into the evening. Money badly spent.

The food was delicious every day, thanks to an excellent chef, mostafa. Mr.Ahmad, the General manager, led a team that gave superb service. I’m grateful to all of them for making our vacation unforgettable, and especially to Ahmad Eid.

The ship staff were very friendly, and there were cultural activities in the evenings. The boat was well equipped and comfortable for sailing the nice. It was easy to visit temples along the way. The tours cost extra, but were well worth it: my Egyptologist was highly trained and knowledgeable.
