New Saint Catherin Hotel

The room was small and cute, but had enough space for sleeping and showering, and the location is perfect. The staff were so nice and helpful, always finding a solution when you ask for something. They make good Turkish coffee. Şükran to Carlos and Usama.

The furniture is really old, the bed isn’t good, and the lighting is dim. The location is very local, with lots of noise and a very local bar nearby where there are many fights. I wouldn’t recommend it to tourists or families.

The room and hotel are basic and need work, but with such a cheap price you can’t expect much. You get what you pay for, and it might be worth spending a bit more for something better. There’s a mosque right nearby, which makes the location easy to find, and its prayers play five times a day, from as early as 5am to around 6:30pm. The street-facing room was too loud, but the staff accommodated my request to change rooms and gave me a free upgrade, which was nice. The owner speaks fluent English, which was very helpful. The hotel offers all sorts of services, so you can book whatever you need at the tourist price.

The only good part was the reception staff. The building is very old, including the lift, and the room had no kettle or drinking water. Walls were broken, and the electrical socket was loose or broken. It was very noisy, with a mosque just outside the room, plus vehicles and people talking outside, so I couldn’t sleep. The washbasin and bathing area kept clogging. Breakfast was very sad, and most of the cutlery was chipped or broken at the edges.
