At night, you can see several ancient temples from the dining area, where both the farms and historic mountain are in view. In daylight it’s beautiful, and in the morning, when it isn’t windy, you can spot hot air balloons. The hotel can help arrange a ride in one, along with other activities. Our rooms were lovely and comfortable, though the view is either of the farms and historic mountain or just the farms. When my husband got extremely sick from food poisoning, the hosts helped me get him medicine. I’m so thankful to the hotel owner’s father for all he did. He’s a kind man. The hotel owners’ mother prepared the best meal we had on our 10-day trip to Egypt, with love. It was an extraordinary stay, and I’ll definitely come back and recommend the place. The only thing I didn’t like was the shared bathrooms.

The pool was a lovely way to cool off after long sunny days, and the room was bright and spacious, with fantastic air conditioning and a super comfortable bed. We slept so well. Mahmoud and his family made us feel welcome and at home during our incredible seven-day stay at Quiet Gate Guesthouse. They helped book all our trips at a really good price, and Mahmoud went out of his way to help us navigate Luxor. When I came down with tonsillitis one day, he took us to the pharmacy for medicine. We had fresh, delicious breakfast and dinner at the guesthouse every day, and highly recommend the food. Quiet Gate was so close to the West Bank temples, with the best views of the mountain and sunset, morning and night. Highly recommend staying here in Luxor.

Mahmoud and his family were wonderful hosts at Quiet Gate Guest House on Luxor’s West Bank. The location was tranquil, with unique landscapes and beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and I felt at home there. My comfortable room had air conditioning and a spectacular balcony view. The bedrooms, pool, kitchen, and relaxation areas were all excellent and comfortable. Mahmoud, the manager, was exceptionally kind and attentive to every request. He shared helpful information about attractions, accessible transport options, and Egyptian culture, and was ready to assist whenever I needed anything. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to experience Luxor’s west side.

An affordable place to stay in Luxor. The morning view of the hot air balloons alone was worth every penny.
