The three-course dinner was generous, tasty and well prepared, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality for the price. I left full and satisfied, and would gladly come back. The welcome was warm from the moment I arrived, which made it easy to feel comfortable.

The beef shawarma was delicious, and this was the best food we had on the West Bank. The staff made us feel very welcome without being pushy. As two women, we also felt very safe. Thank you!!!

The location worked well for us: the public ferry is an easy walk away, there are lots of shops nearby, and it makes a good base for visiting the Valley of the Kings and other places on that side of Luxor. With so many locals around, I preferred it to the other side of Luxor, where I felt harassed all the time. The family who owns the place has a good vibe, and it’s good value. We had a meal at the restaurant once, though it wasn’t my favorite. I’d have liked larger portions and hot pita bread. The mattresses are a little old and not very firm; flipping mine over fixed the problem for me. Cleanliness could be better, but they offered to clean the room at no extra charge. There’s outside noise until it quiets down around 23:00. The shower has really hot water and good pressure, and there’s a ceiling fan and air conditioning. Wi-Fi wasn’t always fast, though I think that depends on how many people are using it. I’d stay here again.

We stopped in for breakfast, and the food was delicious and very local.
