Concorde Moreen Beach Resort & Spa

My parents spent 14 days at Concorde Moreen Beach Resort on a trip organized by Coral Travel PL. Instead of a relaxing five-star holiday, they went through what I can only describe as psychological terror. Strong warning: there was a massive construction site, an attempted scam, censorship, and a terrible tour operator. The hotel deliberately hid that it was a huge construction site. Every day from 7:00 AM until late evening, heavy machinery, excavators, and jackhammers made unbearable noise right under their windows and throughout the hotel areas. Nobody helped. The Coral Travel delegate ignored the problem entirely. The worst part was the hotel management trying to scam my parents with a "Release Form" meant to make them give up any right to complain or get a refund. In return, they offered a cheap bottle of wine and the very same room they had already been assigned at check-in. My parents refused this pathetic, manipulative, arrogant trap. The hotel also actively censors its Facebook page, immediately deleting comments from guests who mention or warn others about the construction. I strongly warn against CORAL TRAVEL PL as well. During the official complaint process, they’ve been incredibly arrogant, making cheap corporate excuses and ignoring the 1.69 GB of video evidence we provided. Save your money and nerves. Avoid this hotel and Coral Travel PL at all costs!

We’ve visited Egypt many times, and I think reviews matter because otherwise tourists’ voices can be ignored. We liked our stay at Concorde, but it didn’t feel like a five-star experience. The atmosphere was relaxed, and free pier access was allowed even at night. Nobody insisted on having a sea guardian when the lifeguard was off duty. We asked for a quiet room and got a quiet area, but the room itself was noisy because of the outside AC fans or system. Even with our AC off, it sounded like an industrial area or a plane. We paid an extra $10 per night to upgrade to a front sea view, hoping it would be quieter, but the fan noise was louder than the waves. With the balcony door shut, the noise was bad; opening it let the waves partly cover it. That meant we had to keep the door closed because of mosquitoes, which made it impossible to sleep otherwise. The resort didn’t spray for mosquitoes, or if they did, it wasn’t effective. The electric door lock also kept making reset sounds and clanking every time the power went out. This happened more times than I can count, including at night. The resort isn’t vegan friendly. Most salad mixes had meat, cheese, or mayonnaise, and no food was labeled vegan, so we were left eating the simplest things. We came prepared and took antihistamine pills once a day before arrival as prescribed. Even so, we got lots of red, itchy, raised bumps and welts, hives. This was definitely from food. We tried to eat vegan, but clearly didn’t manage it, maybe there was butter in the mashed potatoes or vegetables had been cooked on an unclean grill. We don’t know. We also got a reception sign asking beach vendors not to disturb us, but the spa and massage vendors ignored it and kept trying to sell to us. Why hand out signs if vendors aren’t told to leave guests alone? We got just 1.5 liters of bottled water per room per day, far too little. When we asked for more, they sent us to the dispenser. We drink nothing but water, and 1.5 liters for two people didn’t make for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed our time there, which is why we gave it three stars. But it wouldn’t make our must-do-again list, and with the noise and hives it would have been less.

We especially appreciated the care Mahmoud gave our rooms in buildings 16206 and 16208 from 25.11 to 02.12. He worked carefully every day, and his little surprises made our stay feel warmer. He always made sure everything was right and that we were comfortable. The hotel may have been around for a while, but it’s well maintained and exceptionally clean. Our rooms were tidied daily, the food was delicious and varied, and themed dinners made the evenings feel special. The waiters were cheerful, polite, and attentive. Everyone was kind and helpful without being intrusive, from the lifeguards to the bartenders and other staff. As a family, we felt well cared for. There were different activities by the beach and pools each day, and the pool bartenders always greeted us with a smile. The peaceful atmosphere and mostly older guests made it a restful place, with a very good location for relaxing and reaching what we needed. On our departure day, our flight wasn’t until 20:00 and check-out was at 12:00, but reception kindly let us keep using the restaurant while we waited for our airport transfer. The receptionist communicated well and looked after us to the very end. It was a lovely escape from everyday life. The staff are dedicated and enthusiastic, and the place has a distinctive, welcoming feel. We’d love to come back to rest and recharge.

We spent two weeks at Concorde Moreen Beach Resort in November for our honeymoon, and it was wonderful. Egypt was new to me, and my husband had been once before. The hotel exceeded what we expected. The staff were the real highlight. We’ve been to over 30 countries but have never met hotel staff so warm and genuinely kind. People smiled, helped, remembered us, and made us feel welcome. We made lovely connections, from meeting the lifeguard at sunrise to chatting with the team over meals. Restaurant Yahia and Ahmed, spa: Hanna and Aya, and lifeguard Mohamed all made us feel at home. Our room was quiet, clean, and comfortable, with a very large, cozy bed. We were in a more private part of the resort, and the sea view was stunning. The beach had plenty of room, with no queues or rush. There were two ways into the sea, shallow water for snorkeling and a pier for deeper swimming. The water was crystal clear, and the marine life was beautiful. The food stayed enjoyable even after 14 days, with fresh, varied choices and a seafood day that stood out. We also loved the five massage sessions, which were among the best we’ve had, with a relaxing atmosphere, sea view, and excellent therapists. There’s a great gym, excellent pools, and strong Wi-Fi throughout the resort. We loved all 14 days and would happily return for another peaceful, beautiful holiday.
