Pickalbatros Vita Resort - Portofino Marsa Alam

This was already our fourth stay at Pickalbatros Portofino Villaggio & Vita, and Hazzo is one of the reasons we keep coming back. Our children really like him because he makes time for them, gives them attention, and makes them feel special. He is kind, helpful, and professional, and does a great job at the smoothie bar, at breakfast, and in the à la carte restaurant. Even when he worked in other areas of the hotel, we liked going to see him because of his lovely attitude. The hotel itself is beautiful, clean, and well maintained, and the staff are friendly, helpful, and always smiling.

We have a double room with Pool View at Vita Resort. The pool nearby is close to a bar, and staff walk around offering drinks and helping with whatever we need. Our room is cleaned every day, and they leave the sleeping friends arranged nicely on the pillows. The beach is a lovely place to spend time, almost as good as the pool with the slides. We and the kids are enjoying the food too. Special thanks to Khalifa Mohamed for his warm conversations, friendly service, and helpful information. He's also very attentive to the kids, which is lovely.

There was plenty for our family to explore at this huge resort, so it never felt boring. We had a fantastic holiday with our two kids. The sea is beautiful, with lots of marine life to see if you dive from the pier, and the shallow lagoon is a nice safe place for children to play. Food and service were excellent, and the staff were always friendly. We even found some spots with really good coffee, a rare treat at a big resort. Highly recommended!

After four days of misery, we paid ourselves to move to Jaz Elite Maraya, where the service was top-tier luxury. The difference was beyond words. Pickalbatros Vita is a never again for us. It's presented as a 5-star hotel, but in reality it felt like a weak 3-star at best. The rooms were dirty and housekeeping was miserable. Breakfast had only two kinds of cheese, no spreads, and they often ran out of basics like tomatoes and iceberg lettuce. From lunch on there was no cheese at all, and the food selection was poor. Dinner was the same, with no cheese, and the wine came in boxes and was undrinkable. Food was either heavily oversalted or tasteless. The so-called "Asian restaurant" had no real Asian dishes, just over-spiced Indian curry and overcooked noodles. They didn't make sushi and seemed not to know how. The lifeguards by the pool were the worst part. Instead of watching the children, they shamelessly harassed guests and begged them to buy perfume or other items. The hotel had no class or standards. If you're after quality and good service, avoid this place. The food was an absolute disaster, and it was not worth what the 5-star label suggested.
