The town gets incredibly loud, though that seems to be the case all over Egypt and isn't the hotel's fault. Oddly, with earplugs I slept better here than anywhere else so far. I was on the ninth floor, with a decent view over the rooftops and a sunrise from the window. The room was plain and a little dated, but comfortable and had what I needed for two nights. There's food all around and the train station is about two minutes away. The shower wets the whole bathroom floor, as these wet rooms often do, but they had flip-flops. There was also a fridge, TV and prayer mat. Basic but livable, and the person in charge spoke English well. I'd come back.

The staff are friendly and helpful, and the rooms are clean. The street outside is very busy, so it's noisy at night. Hot water comes quickly from the electric heater, though it lasts enough for a 5 to 10 minute shower. Great location.

The rooms and bathroom were clean, and breakfast was a nice Egyptian one. The road in front is noisy, so try to get a room away from it.

The location is perfect, but a street-facing room gets a lot of noise through the poor insulation. I found bedbugs in my bed. The sheets were clean, though the room overall wasn't very clean, just okay for a night. Staff didn't know what bedbugs were, and neither did the manager when they asked him. They only said a simple sorry, with no refund, compensation or anything else offered. Breakfast was simple but okay. Fine for one night, but check the mattress before you sleep.

The one letdown was breakfast. Otherwise, I enjoyed my stay: the room was clean and nice, the AC worked fine, and the staff were friendly. It's right in the liveliest part of the city and about two minutes from the train station. For the price, it's a good option compared with the nearby places, especially if you want a decent, recently renovated spot in the center. I'd recommend it.
