Wadi Lahmy Azur Resort

We especially loved how quiet and secluded the resort felt, and snorkeling on the outer reef was a highlight. The lagoon has lots of marine life, with easy access to the sea. Everything was well looked after, from the clean beach, sunbeds, and umbrellas to the spotless pools and our room, which was cleaned daily. Bottled water was provided every day too. Our room was comfortable and had what we needed, including a suitable bathroom. The resort feels like a botanical garden, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Meals were excellent, with plenty of tasty choices each day. There were no discos or loud entertainment, which suited us. We also went on a well-organized desert safari with jeep rides, quad biking, camels, dinner, and a cultural show. We were two married couples and had a wonderful holiday. We’re thinking about coming back, and would recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing break.

The reef was the standout for me, with beautiful coral and so much marine life. Snorkeling and diving both gave us a look at an underwater world that felt almost untouched. I also liked the resort’s environmental efforts, especially the monthly mangrove cleanup where guests and staff collect plastic to help protect the ecosystem. The food could use some work. There’s plenty of choice, but the taste doesn’t always meet expectations, and more attention to flavor and quality would bring it up to the rest of the resort’s standard. It’s a peaceful place surrounded by sea and desert, with no crowds or noise. A good choice for getting away from everyday chaos and enjoying nature.

The staff were welcoming and always seemed focused on making us comfortable. Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud from the front office was already showing great hospitality before we arrived, and worked to get us one of the best rooms and sort out an AC problem. At the restaurants, Mr. Abdelfattah and Chef Moustafa went out of their way to accommodate my daughter’s gluten-free diet. Chef Ahmed at the pizza station was excellent, as was Chef Ibrahim Hassan at the pasta station. Mr. Sherief Khairy, the Duty Manager, greeted us every morning at breakfast and checked that everything was comfortable. The hotel was clean, the food exceeded expectations, and the stay felt like great value.

We came back after our first stay, and would return again if we can. The resort is wonderfully quiet, with lovely gardens, a peaceful beach, and rich marine life around the reefs. You can enter the sea or lagoon from the jetty near the beach sunbeds. We loved snorkeling and saw plenty of fish, with barracuda, moray, octopus, and turtles possible if you’re lucky. The lagoon stays open all day, even when it’s windy. We recommend snorkeling with dolphins through the nearby Orca diving center. They were kind and accommodating, and made the trip enjoyable even with limited mobility. Another time, a guide who offered safari took us into the desert National park just for us, which was unforgettable. An owl perched right above our balcony, a lovely surprise to see along with the sunrise each morning. The drive from the airport is about three hours, but worth it. Staff were friendly and informative, maintenance quickly fixed a bathroom problem, and the rooms were clean with comfortable beds. There was a wide range of tasty food and we especially liked the fresh strawberry juice, though it wasn’t part of the soft all-inclusive. They also made sure my birthday didn’t go unnoticed.
