Jaz Neo Naama Bay Hotel

We loved our 11 days here. The gardens were stunning and the staff worked hard to keep them pristine. The resort has a Greek feel, lovely views over Naama Bay, and a restaurant with a lovely bay view and a nice breeze at breakfast. It's medium-sized and felt intimate. During our stay it was only about 50% full, so it never felt crowded. The pools were medium-sized, one shallow and one deeper, and had a pool bar. The selection of soft drinks and alcohol was limited, but we mostly had lemon mint, Sprite and water. The rooms were huge and extremely clean, though a little dated. The cleaning team were lovely and made funny towel designs. Reception were very helpful and regularly checked whether we needed anything. Management was there every day, making sure things ran smoothly. The servers were polite and ready to help. Ahmed learned our preferences quickly and made sure everything was right. The restaurant manager was super friendly, offered us a special dinner before we went home, and checked if we needed anything when we hadn't eaten much or had skipped lunch or dinner. The food was very tasty, with lots to choose from. It mixed Russian, Egyptian and English dishes. I would have preferred more Egyptian food, though the hotel mostly caters to Russian guests, so you can see their influence. I was surprised at how many Russians were in Egypt and that local people spoke Russian and struggled with English, though they speak most languages. On departure day they made sure we had breakfast and lunch, and even dinner if the coach hadn't picked us up yet. We had all drinks included until we left the resort, which made us feel really valued. Cheers to Chloe on the entertainment team, who worked hard to keep guests happy and checked on us. We had a fun night in Hard rock coffee. The shuttle to the beach was the most frustrating part. It ran too infrequently and was very crowded. I understand the costs and logistics, but we were always rushing to catch it and had to fight for space, with people stepping on each other. Otherwise we'd have to wait another hour or take a taxi. We felt safe and cared for and had a very good stay. The best thing about the hotel is the staff, who deserve all the tips and gratitude for their hard work. I'd recommend it to friends. We're planning to come back in winter to visit Petra and other sites when the weather is cooler.
