Sinai Old Spices B&B

I’ve been to Sharm four times, and this is the only place I’ve come back to. It really feels like home. Travelling solo, I arrived tired and got an immediate hug. Need food at midnight? They sort it. Bus information, a taxi to the dive site, or a ride to the grocery shop, they help with all of it. Home from home.

The rooms are nicely decorated, and the place feels cosy. Desy is a great host and makes fresh food every day. Her burgers are really yummy, too. For the money, it’s great value, and I’d easily give it five stars if the location weren’t so far out. Be aware that taxi drivers may have trouble finding it. The area is very local, with not much to do or see. If you like dogs, you can say hi to Sakkara, a really sweet dog who stays in a separate area.

The view of the stone hills from the pool is lovely, and it’s a great spot to relax. The property is a surprise once you’re inside the walls, since the surrounding local area outside Sharm doesn’t seem particularly nice. Desy, the Italian owner, has decorated the place beautifully, with something to look at in every corner. Her cooking is excellent too, from traditional savoury dishes and burgers to breakfast treats and sweets. She’s friendly, super helpful, and inspiring.

The pool lounge area was the cherry on top of this stay. It’s a quiet, authentic place in an old settlement, and it felt like a delightful home away from home. Hospitality was fantastic, breakfast excellent, and the beds comfortable. Highly recommend.
