La Dehesa Experiences

We loved the slower pace and the feeling of escaping for a while. Lovely cows roam the land, along with two horses and Pedro the donkey, who loves apples. There are a couple of small things that could be better: the sun-baked dehesa takes its toll on the wooden finishes, which could use more maintenance to match the rest of the experience. The meals could include more vegetables and vegetarian options, since one person in our group had diabetes and found the choices very limited. We also expected the lodges to be farther apart. We could see the others from ours and had hoped for more privacy, though our lodge was still quite private. Yes, I’m being fussy! The lodges are great and don’t feel like tents. We had strong WiFi, a big TV, all the mod cons, effective heating and AC, a warm shower with good pressure, and well-stocked regular and wine fridges. The mattress was very comfortable, and we loved the deck and plunge pool. Staff were friendly, driving us and our luggage around in golf carts, and bringing breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast was lovely. We liked parking at reception and being taken to the lodge. The meal delivery menu is a little limited, but the food we tried was well cooked, including the lamb and pork cheeks, which we had twice. We had a fantastic time and will be back very soon. It’s a wonderful place to switch off, read or even finish writing a book. Next time I’ll bring my quill!

The menu had just one vegetarian choice, a vegan pizza, which could be improved. Apart from that, we fully recommend LaDehesa. We had a wonderful stay, and the spacious lodges are beautifully designed, a perfect spot to unwind on summer days.

A great place to get away from everyday life, relax, and enjoy the quiet and nature. The Tubbos and Cabañas are both fantastic holiday options, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Raul, Laura and Sandra! Inge
