Flamingo Beach Mate

We loved our week here. The hotel is beautiful and spotless, and the staff were efficient and helpful. Breakfast had an amazing choice. We'll certainly book another fab holiday here. Thank you, Flamingo Beach Mate. You should be so proud of your hotel. Mr & Mrs Harrison.

The location is good, and the breakfast was basic, though the daily menu choices were good and fairly priced. I've stayed a couple of times and found it okay, but for self-catering apartments at this price, they could at least supply the basics. I came back recently for the memories of an earlier stay, but wouldn't return. There are better-serviced places around now, and I noticed several major hotel brands have been built nearby since my previous visits. The €10 daily parking charge seems a bit much, especially for a long stay.

While we were on holiday, a woman approached us outside with scratch cards and offered a hotel tour, a prize, and two free drinks each in exchange for 60 minutes. We went in, met another woman, then spoke with someone else. They asked how we usually paid for and booked holidays, then showed us a very nice room and the spa. The rep offered four weeks of accommodation for £4000 instead of the usual £8000 and asked if I was interested. I said yes, but made clear I wouldn't pay anything that day. He got some paperwork, then showed us to the exit. When I asked about the promised drinks and prize, he said those were only for people who stayed the full 60 minutes. I pointed out that was what we'd agreed, but he just repeated himself and walked off. In my opinion, the hotel must know this is going on, since they had access to reception, rooms, and the spa tour. I doubt the offer was genuine. Any chance I'd have booked this hotel in future is gone. Read the reviews and decide for yourself.

The breakfast had a varied spread: cooked dishes, lots of fruit and salad, cooked meats and cheeses, fresh rolls, sliced bread for toasting, and plenty of fresh cakes. The restaurant staff were efficient, and Beatrize managed them well. She was very pleasant and welcoming. Reception were pleasant too and went out of their way to help with anything we asked. We stayed for several weeks, and our rooms were kept clean and well serviced.
