Gran Tacande Wellness & Relax Costa Adeje

The staff were kind, welcoming and professional. The only awkward part was that cleaning staff came into our room without knocking twice, which was very uncomfortable. There was plenty of underground parking, and we never had trouble finding a space. The hotel doesn't have beach access or its own sunbeds, which would have been a plus. We had a clean room with a small private pool. The bathroom wasn't separate from the room, which I found a little inconvenient. There's lots of space in the lobby, a nice bar, and evening events with live music. All pools, including the private one, are heated. The indoor spa is booked in advance, so it doesn't get overcrowded. Breakfast was good quality and the selection was large, though it was the same each day. There were fresh hot dishes, like omelettes, made by the cooks, so you shouldn't get bored. We had one nice dinner at the hotel restaurant. Generally, I'd recommend Gran Tacande :)

The restaurant was too cold for most people, which made the food cold by the time you sat down. Hot plates would've made the meals much more enjoyable. We also wished there had been more information in the room about hotel amenities, such as Spa prices and restaurant locations. The website wasn't user friendly, so you had to ask reception if you wanted to know anything. Otherwise, we found the hotel well located near Plaza Del Duque shopping centre, and our room was spacious, clean and nicely presented. The staff were helpful and obliging, and it was always easy to find a sunbed. They seemed well spaced around whichever pool we chose. One pool was heated to 28 degrees and was lovely and warm. This was our first visit, booked through EASY JET HOLIDAYS, which were excellent in every way. We'd return and hope some improvements can be made, but the staff's helpfulness means the hotel still deserves five stars. I'm sure the issues can be addressed.

The hotel was nice and the staff lovely, but paying extra for Gold level definitely wasn't worth it for us. We expected peace and quiet from the San Sebastian Plaza, advertised as 'where tranquility takes centre stage', but it was far from tranquil. The snacks and drinks were very limited, and every day the spa pool was full of noisy children and toys. Kids bombing into the pool and screaming at each other isn't my idea of a relaxing break. We knew this wasn't an adults-only hotel, but based on the marketing we expected families to be encouraged toward the main and children's pools rather than the infinity pool meant to be tranquil. If you're an adult couple after a quiet stay, be aware this hotel may not suit you. I'm also disappointed the hotel hasn't responded to my feedback.

Our deluxe sea view room on the sixth floor had lovely sunset views, and the pool was quiet with plenty of space. The hotel is in a great spot on the right side of Costa Adeje. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and had two dinners in the buffet restaurant, which was excellent and very good value for money. The staff were efficient and friendly. A true five star hotel, and we'll definitely return.
