La Tortuga Hostel

I spent a whole month at Tortuga Hostel in Tenerife, and it became much more than a place to stay. Some people who booked only a few days even ended up cancelling their return flights, which probably tells you plenty. It's a feeling that stayed with me after leaving, and words don't really cover what it meant to me. The place is always clean, with well-kept shared areas and lots of outdoor space to enjoy the island weather. It's peaceful and relaxing, so working remotely feels easy, while there's still a good balance between time with people and time to yourself. From the start, everyone seemed genuinely cheerful and relaxed, and the atmosphere felt warm and home-like. Ale and Pasquale deserve a special mention. They're kind-hearted and personally committed to keeping the hostel in great condition and making guests comfortable. I've never seen owners so involved and attentive. They care about every detail and about each person staying there.

I've never stayed in a better hostel. The staff were so friendly, there were lots of fun activities, and the place itself was amazing, with a pool. More than anything, though, I found a second family here. 🫶🏼 Already looking forward to coming back!

We had a wonderful week and would love to return. Barbora was especially helpful, with great advice on making the most of the island and finding the best parties. The owners were super nice too, and the volunteers kept trying to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The hostel is beautiful and has a really friendly, family-like feel.

There’s always room to hang out with people, and somewhere quieter to relax and enjoy yourself. The people are amazing, and the place has everything you need. For me, it’s the best hostel in the Canaries and beyond, and I'd happily return again and again. If you can, try the Wednesday barbecue. There are lots of choices, including vegan options.
