Lagos de Fanabe Beach Resort

We left our family holiday feeling disgusting and unclean. The rooms were filthy, we felt tense and uncomfortable throughout, and there was nothing pleasant about the stay. Breakfast was very basic, nowhere near four-star quality. We’ve had better breakfasts in lower-rated hotels. If there were bugs in the apartment, I worried there might be some in the kitchens too. We’ve again raised our concerns with the hotel and booking.com and asked for a refund. Nobody should have to deal with that level of filth. We stayed at Lagos de Fañabé from 13th to 20th May 2026. The apartment was extremely dirty on arrival and stayed that way. There were cobwebs, dead bugs, and cockroaches on several occasions. Attached photos show a strange yellow patch I unknowingly slept on, and hairs under the sheets that weren’t mine. The floors seemed to be mopped with a dirty mop, and even after cleaning, the apartment still felt filthy. Our son’s socks turned black as soon as he walked around. We’ve been to Tenerife many times and never experienced anything like this. It left us uncomfortable and honestly sickened. We were travelling with our toddler, and there were hazards despite our constant supervision. The balcony wall was damaged and crumbling, with bits that came loose easily. Within seconds our son pulled off some material and put it in his mouth before we could stop him. He could also open an unsecured door under a staircase, which seemed to lead to another apartment area with exposed wiring or equipment. Though it had a lock, it had been left unsecured and opened easily, posing a serious risk. We spoke to staff about our concerns but didn’t feel they took us seriously. They offered to move us, then said it “would not make a difference, as there would be cockroaches there too,” which did nothing to reassure us. The accommodation did not meet basic standards for cleanliness or safety and was not suitable for families with small children. It badly affected our holiday, and we wouldn’t return or recommend it.

Just got back from a week here and loved it. The room had a great view over the seafront, and the location is awesome. It was very clean and relaxed. I can’t find a bad word to say, and would highly recommend it.

The hotel itself is nice, but this was a very poor experience and I wouldn’t recommend staying here. We got conflicting information on arrival about where and when all-inclusive items were available. Bar staff kept chatting instead of serving people who were waiting, and staff in general seemed uninterested in guests. During our stay, my handbag was stolen. Reception told me to go to the police station when I reported it. I asked whether the hotel could check its CCTV, but they refused and again sent me to the station, which was a taxi ride away. I had no cash to pay because my bag had been taken. After some back and forth, the hotel eventually offered to cover the taxi. While we were at the station, someone in our group called to say the bag had been found. We went back, and staff then asked us to pay for the return taxi, saying I had obviously left the bag in the toilet. Money and perfume were missing, and the bag was damaged. I refused to pay and wouldn’t sign a waiver saying I was happy with the outcome, because staff had been dismissive and unhelpful. I asked the hotel to file a report since the theft was on its property, but they said it was a private matter and nothing to do with them.

An oasis in the middle of Costa Adeje, with a fantastic location and three private Beach clubs. The rooms are clean and in good order, breakfast is good, and it made for a perfect holiday. The staff are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. We always eat out in the evening, though there is also a restaurant and bar on site.
