Grums Hotel

The entrance and the friendly staff are what earned this place extra stars. The hotel itself is extremely outdated, and I've never seen such old, stained carpet. It definitely needs renovation, and the photos don't show what it's really like. The spa is quite far from being a real spa. Breakfast costs €18, originally €22, and didn't seem worth it when there's a lovely cafe next door with reasonable prices and great quality.

My card was declined because of an international transaction restriction, so I asked the hotel to resend the payment link through Booking.com's messaging system. They said they would, but sent completely different messages instead and never followed through. Then, 10 days before arrival, they cancelled the booking on their own. They'd promised in writing and didn't keep that promise, leaving me scrambling to find last-minute accommodation.

The rooms were a nice size, clean and well maintained. The breakfast buffet was great, and if they ask whether you'd like to add it to your room, say yes! Everyone on staff was friendly, and the front desk helped me get a taxi when I needed one. It's not far from the Olympic venues or the port if you're staying before a cruise. If I come back to Barcelona, I'll stay here again. Thanks for the great hospitality!

The breakfast was excellent, and the staff were really helpful. Jossy, the bartender, is great at her job. She's a proffesional, mixes cocktails well, and is kind and willing to help.
