Ramada Residences by Wyndham Costa Adeje

The walk back from the beach or Costa Adeje Centre can be tiring, but taxis are easy to find. The Ramada Team were accommodating, and the hotel’s views are incredible. Rooms are a good size, especially the balconies, and the amenities are great. The pool is large and heated, and the rooftop bar is a must at sunset.

The two-bedroom apartment is lovely, and all the staff are lovely too. I love swimming, so I go to the pool every day. It’s beautiful, with clear, heated water, and it opens early and closes late. The little shop on site has most holiday essentials, including ice creams, drinks, pool things and snacks. There are two restaurants, though one is more of a café. It’s still lovely, and the other serves dinner and has bingo on some days. I’d recommend it to everyone, young or old, with kids or without. There’s something for everyone.

The hotel bar’s Happy Hour was a real bright spot. On weekdays, for one hour, the second of two selected drinks is free, and they bring out a small plate of snacks at no charge. The bartender was friendly and clearly knew his job. The rest of our nine-night stay was disappointing. We booked a sea-view apartment but got only a partial view, with another hotel building blocking part of it. Compared with apartments that have a proper sea view, ours should have been described as semi sea view and priced much lower. Towels were changed only twice, and the sheets just once, on day seven. The apartment had terrible acoustics, so we could hear shouting and thumping from the corridor and next door. The fridge and toilet made strange noises constantly, though we couldn’t hear them with the doors shut, and that really shouldn’t happen. Breakfast was identical every day. For the last three days we stopped eating it because the menu never changed. It might be fine for a short stay, but gets repetitive over a longer one. Dinner at the same restaurant was terrible and not worth the price: tiny portions, poor taste and bad service. We waited 15 minutes for the bill. Our waiter kept looking over but seemed to avoid coming to us, so we eventually gave up and paid at the bar ourselves. 0/10 for that experience.

The apartment’s sea views are amazing, and the rooms and service at the poolside bar and restaurant were spot on. The place is up a hill. Walking down to the seafront and most bars and restaurants is fairly manageable, but you’ll need a taxi to get back up.
