This is a lovely apartment, one of two, with an amazing rooftop terrace for relaxing in the sun or unwinding after a day out. We found it peaceful, with fantastic views. Tamadaba is great for exploring and hiking, and the trail starts right at the front door. Our host, Rayco, also showed us around his family’s neighboring farm. It was amazing! Highly recommended if you’d rather stay away from the tourist crowds.

Such a peaceful, lovely place. The friendly owner showed us around his huge garden, where we got to see lots of trees and plants that were exotic to us. Highly recommended.

We spent 10 days here in February 2018, and even though the weather was unusually cold and wet, the hosts made sure we were comfortable and brought extra heating. They live next door and were incredibly welcoming and attentive without ever intruding. They kept replenishing supplies from their organic orchard, including avocados, oranges, and tomatoes, and shared tips about trips and local restaurants. We also walked another 10 minutes down the valley for a guided tour and wine tasting at the adjoining fruit orchard, vineyard, and coffee plantation. The apartment is spacious, bright, and airy, with extensive equipment that made it feel like home. Its setting is spectacular, in a local-feeling area with very few tourists. There are walks right from the door, and the pretty Port, framed by mountains, is only a 15-minute drive away. Driving felt civilised, and we easily explored other parts of the island. We didn’t use the roof terrace and patio as much as we’d hoped. If the sun had been out and the wind had dropped, as it did on the morning we left, it would have been an idyllic hideaway. Even so, we dressed warmly, dodged the showers, and enjoyed the island, the apartment, and our lovely hosts. We got a taste of rural life, and everyone we met was friendly. Nobody hassled us as tourists. We had a wonderful holiday and highly recommend the apartment.

You can just enjoy the view here, whether you’re a walker or not. This is the best holiday house on Gran Canaries, with everything you need. The owner also brings you avocados, oranges, bananas, and more.

Beautiful surroundings and incredible views made this a fantastic place. The owners are incredibly kind, and the fruit and avocados are fresh.
