Hostal La Llave

So peaceful out in the countryside. The hospitality was fabulous, and I’d happily come back again. 👌👍

The people were lovely and really attentive, and I enjoyed the meals on site, both breakfast and dinner. It’s a bit out of the way, but that’s a lovely thing if you’re after some peace and quiet. 😋😀

The room was warm, comfortable, and perfectly fine when we got in at about 9 pm. The owners, who live in the village, gave it to us without any trouble. There seem to be four or five rooms in the hostel, which is in a village about 10 km from Aguilar de Campoo. The next morning, the village’s main water line had broken, so there was no water and we couldn’t shower. That wasn’t the hostel’s fault, but we were still charged, and all we got was a brief apology. They didn’t offer even a coffee or juice as a small gesture. For what we paid, I felt that was inadequate. The room wasn’t cheap, more like a four-star hotel price, though it was what was available in the area at the time.

The owners were so kind and lovely, and the whole atmosphere was fantastic. The rooms were warm, a real help on cold nights, and everything was super clean, comfortable, and quiet. It’s a great base for all kinds of cultural and outdoor activities, with excellent breakfast and dinner for guests. Thanks so much for everything. We’re leaving grateful and already keen to come back!
