The pool is a decent size at 1.5 metres deep, and we paid extra for heating on top of the solar heating. It was very warm. We came in mid-May, when the temperature was pleasantly warm and the breeze was welcome. There’s also a handy barbecue that we used several times. You’ll need charcoal and firelighters, but we found them easily at a supermarket. The villa is beautiful and very well cared for. Staff come by during your stay but are discreet. The pool gets cleaned, the gardener waters the plants, and the cleaners are cheerful. They also brought fresh bedding and towels halfway through the week. All the rooms are spacious, with lots of clothing storage. The kitchen is well equipped, and the living room has a large flat-screen TV, Nintendo Wii, stereo, and DVD player. I may book it again next year.

There’s a good-sized pool, table tennis, and a pool table, and the villa is clean and tidy with most things you might need. You can walk to restaurants and a supermarket, and the location isn’t bad. There’s no air conditioning or heating, so you’re dependent on the weather. Plane spotters might love it, since it sits noisily right under the airport approach.

We’ve come about four or five times with our big group. Solmar are great to deal with, and the villa has a lovely pool and plenty of space. This year there were bugs, but solar villas got onto it straight away. They got into all the food, though, and a way to keep them out would earn the fifth star. The beds are very hard, but that’s fine if you like them that way.

The villa is lovely and huge, even bigger than the photos suggest. The ceiling fans aren’t working, and it’s right under the flight path, so there’s constant noise.

Kelly was kind and professional, and the villa has everything for a comfortable stay, including a pool, ping pong and billiards tables, washing machine, fully equipped kitchen, and TV. The bathroom amenities were missing, which was a shame, but everything else was fine. It’s a perfect base for exploring the island and excellent value for money.
