Arinaga Beach

We liked the Spanish feel of the area, especially compared with the busy touristy parts of gran canaria. Arinaga was peaceful, with a lovely long promenade for walks and some nice restaurants.

An unreal sunset and amazing views made this such a great experience. There are lots of shops and restaurants by the beach, plus a few street entertainers to lift the mood. If you’re in gran canaria, you need to visit.

The water stays calm in the cove, and there are swimming platforms too. It feels very family friendly, with restaurants and bathrooms on site. You’ll see all sorts going on at the beach, from small boats being launched to people sunbathing, fishing, and riding jet skis.

We really liked this quiet coastal town and will come back to explore more and have a meal. It didn’t feel too touristy, and it had ordinary shops, cafes and bars along the promenade, plus benches for a picnic. There’s plenty to do along the walk, including statues, some in the sea, an outdoor gym, a children’s play area, toilets, outdoor showers and places to sunbathe. The beach is black sand and gravel, with a little jetty and bathing areas. Lots of people were swimming and sunbathing, and the waves looked gentle. It was a bit windy, which was nice in the heat.
