The toilet smelled, and then this guy came knocking at 8am asking about a reservation. We'd already booked two extra nights, but apparently he couldn't read. He was very rude. I'm on vacation and wanted some peace, not someone banging on the door while I was trying to sleep. Stop knocking at 8am and maybe I'd change the review. Too bad you can't go back in time.

The one good thing is the central location. We first got an interior room with a window facing the kitchen, and it reeked of chlorine; the bathroom was dirty too. Since we were there with our children, we asked to change rooms. The replacement was smaller, but clean and without the chlorine smell. There was no staff around. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

Agüimes is a beautiful, charming village, and the rural house has some unusual architecture and materials that work well in practice. Our room was spotless and smelled lovely, and the beds were comfortable, so we had a very enjoyable stay. A good fit if you want somewhere functional and a bit different in a distinctive setting.

The house has a lot of charm, and we were comfortable there overall. We spent a weekend and got a very good price; the staff were attentive too. But there are quite a few things to fix. One room had a strong damp smell, and the wardrobe was so moldy we couldn't put clothes in it. Most of the time the shower only ran cold. The cardboard covering the windows also looked a bit cheap.
