Casas Medina

Casa Medina was just what I wanted: peace, isolation, tranquillity and nature. I was especially happy watching the many lizards and skinks that live around the apartment. The place is immaculate, and the host was very professional and quick to answer questions. Getting there was quite an arrival, after a late ferry and a nail-biting drive on twisty mountain roads in the dark, pouring rain and mist. It felt like reaching paradise. I really want to return in spring for a warm, sunny holiday.

Friendly owners, lovely hiking paths nearby with few people around, and a cozy place well away from the hustle. The terrace looks straight out onto stunning lush hills.

Casa Medina 2 was our home for several nights on our recent La Gomera holiday. The cottage is picturesque and sits high in the mountain forest, so it’s quiet, with cool, showery nights. Its garden was full of flowers in bloom and trees with ripe fruit, and there was a friendly ginger cat. Inside, it had all the facilities listed in the description. I especially loved the well-equipped kitchen, strong WiFi, good shower pressure, the bidet in the WC, the cottage style and the setting. After long, hot days hiking or at the beach, it was lovely to sleep in the cool cottage. My partner appreciated the off-road parking and BBQ grill. The host was very friendly and always available. A small rental car is a must, in my view. The rural mountain roads are narrow and full of turns. Do your main food and essentials shopping in San Sebastian. If you don’t want to cook, there’s a good restaurant a few minutes away by car. The drive from San Sebastian up to Casa Medina 2 takes about 45 minutes if you’re brave and stick to the speed limits! Allow extra time too, because you’ll often stop to admire the scenery. I recommend the place to anyone who loves nature, hiking and peaceful rural living. Enjoy :)
