The breakfast was made with care and love, though the buffet seemed a little sparse beside breakfasts at other hotels we stayed in. Since the dining room is small, you need to choose one of the two sittings on a sheet the evening before. Our deluxe room was compact but comfortable and well equipped. With the wooden shutters open, the morning light was lovely, and we could see across town to the cliffs. The hotel is in a colonial era building in the middle of Agulo, with a courtyard open to the sky, a little fountain, greenery and lounge chairs. The views of the cliffs and countryside are great. Agulo was one of the most charming places we visited in the Canaries, set in a coastal valley among banana groves and high cliffs. Mirador de Abrante sits above the town, and a walk through the streets feels like stepping back in time. The old building has its quirks: floorboards creak a lot, and sound carries between rooms. It added to the charm for us.

I really liked the varied breakfast, especially the local fruit. The rooms were spacious and very quiet, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel has a charming courtyard looking onto the rooms, in a traditional, peaceful Canarian village.
