Hotel Villa Románica

The balcony was the best part of our room. The views were amazing, with a table and chairs where you could sit and read or work. The bathroom was clean and decent, and the shower was good. It was completely quiet inside, with no noise from other guests. The bed was rock hard. I think I slept okay, but my wife really didn’t like it. The A/C didn’t work very well, so we left the balcony door open. Luckily, Aínsa cooled off nicely that night. The hotel is in a great old building in the historic part of Aínsa, close to everything in the centre. Just know that things open late, even places selling coffee, so getting something early can be difficult. Reception was easy and efficient, but it isn’t staffed all day and night. You have to check in by a certain time, and if you leave early, you’ll need to pay the night before and find out where to leave the key. Breakfast doesn’t start until 8:00, so there’s no food or coffee if you have to leave before then. We were glad we hadn’t booked breakfast, since we left too early for it. There’s no hotel parking. The city lot is about a kilometer away, beyond the castle ruins, and costs 3 euros overnight. Bring coins. Given the price, it’s worth a stay if you’re okay with firm beds and keep the reception and breakfast hours in mind. Check the weather, too, since the A/C doesn’t work very well.
