Casa Rural Estarrun

Natalia and Julio are attentive hosts who give detailed information about things to do in the area. The rooms are warm and inviting, and breakfast is delicious and carefully prepared. You can see the care in all the details. Casa Estarrún is a lovely place in beautiful, peaceful surroundings, and definitely somewhere I'd return to.

Julio cooked dinner for us one day, and it was a 10/10, really, really good. The house is small but charming, and the rooms are clean though rather spartan. Breakfast is reasonable, but if you want olive oil for your toast, bring your own. Natalia and Julio are very friendly and make sure you know about routes and activities in the area.

The hosts are very friendly, and the Azafrán room was roomier than Romero. But we spent four nights here and I left feeling cheated. They asked us to pay before we had even seen the room, and the house looked much bigger in the photos. Our rooms were nice, but west-facing, and the heat was unbearable all four nights even with the windows wide open. Knowing the owners, this could be eased with a simple fan. The town's lovely church also chimes the hours and quarters through the night. Housekeeping was average. Their website incorrectly says breakfast and dinner are offered, but neither is available. There is a mini kitchen for making your own breakfast. Options nearby are limited, and the other accommodation charges €10.50 per person for breakfast, so bear that in mind before booking. I wouldn't return or recommend it, at least not in summer.

Dinner choices are limited, and whether you like what's offered is a matter of taste. You also can't order anything outside meal times. The place is very clean and adequate. The quiet village sits between the Hecho and Canfranc valleys, and the Aisa valley is well worth exploring.
