From the hostel, it takes about a minute to reach cliffs, old walls, and rooftops that look like a postcard, even when you're only trying to find your way out. Albergue Albarracín is a huge, sturdy place, built in that mountain style that feels made to last. It can hold 76 guests, though in shoulder season there were only a few of us, so the quiet building felt almost eerie at night, like a polite stone fortress wishing you goodnight. Inside, it's clean, warm, and simple. The common rooms had sleepy hikers, quiet people, and others studying maps. Staff were calm and helpful. Breakfast was amazing: strong coffee, warm bread, and a hearty start that made me wonder why I don't eat that well at home. Five stars for a spacious but cozy hostel, a great breakfast, and a peaceful base in a cinematic Spanish town.

Loved the tomato bread at breakfast, and Christian at reception was professional and cool. The place is exceptionally clean and bike-friendly, run by a kind, caring Romanian family. Bathrooms were top-notch, with plenty of hot water, and the view was amazing. I ended up staying longer than planned.

The beds were used, as you'd expect from bunks, but comfortable and quiet. The hosts were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was amazing. It was included at 25 euros per person per night.

The location is good, the views are amazing, and the hostel is clean. We had a nice time because we expected little beyond a place to rest, and with those expectations you may have a nice stay. We did have several problems. The advertised WiFi wasn't available, and breakfast was advertised too, but when we came down at breakfast time there was nobody in the lobby or kitchen. The hosts came downstairs an hour later, after we'd already eaten. The hostel was freezing; they turned on the heat after we asked, then switched it off two hours later. There was hot water, but the showers had no shower heads, so the water came down with a lot of force and made showering a bit painful.
