Posada del Rodeno

The Don Diego room felt like something out of a fairy tale, but without any stale old smell. We kept debating whether to relax in it or go explore the village. It’s huge, with lots of windows for fresh air and sunlight, and was spotless, with vintage decor alongside modern bathroom fittings. The shower pressure was strong, and the bedding and towels were plush and comfortable. Big compliments to the people looking after this place. A couple of practical things: the room is two floors up and there’s no lift. Check-in is at Hotel El Gallo next door, where reception is up one flight of stairs, also without a lift. Breakfast is available for 3.50 euros and includes coffee, a glass of orange juice, tomato toast, two mini muffins, and jam. Parking is easy to find out front. Pay at the machine and leave the ticket on your dashboard, it costs 4 euros a day.

A lovely room, spotlessly clean and equipped with everything we needed. We stayed one night and had an excellent experience. The price was excellent for such a great find in a really pretty, interesting village. Highly recommend.

The food was a real treat and better than we expected, served in a superb setting. The staff were very friendly and attentive.

The hotel was cozy and nice, and it lifted my spirits a little during a stretch when I wasn't having my best days. Too bad we didn't get a room with a view.
