The location is a huge plus, just a five minute walk to the beach and restaurants. Alcossebre is lovely for walks, beaches, hikes, restaurants, and nature. The apartment was spacious, with two bedrooms, a living room and sofa bed, plus a good kitchen and washing machine. The pool was great, and Santi was a very nice person, though he seemed to be handling things on his own. The noise was awful. The walls are thin enough that you hear everything, and I couldn't sleep during my stay because the children downstairs screamed day and night. I know kids are kids, but I was on holiday to rest, not live with constant noise. Smoking is allowed on balconies, so fresh sea air depends on whether your neighbours smoke. The beds were old, horrible, and had dirty, smelly bedding. I bought my own pillows and duvet. The apartment was only clean-ish. You pay for electricity at the end, and internet costs about 1.20 per day. Otherwise, the Wi-Fi signal is very poor. There are more positives than negatives, but the problems are big. I’ll come back to visit Alcossebre, but next time I’ll choose a hotel with better sound insulation.

The bar and restaurant staff were the best part of the complex, super friendly. The service elsewhere was terrible, and I won’t return. We booked two days but left the next day. The ground floor apartment was very old. It had two bedrooms, but while the double bedroom was fine, the other was a cramped, windowless little space barely big enough for an 80cm bunk bed, with almost no room between the bunks. My son is 180cm tall and couldn’t sleep there. The living room bed had such a thin mattress that it felt like sleeping on the floor. When we arrived, the sheets were on the bed but we had to make it ourselves.

This was my second stay, and I hope to come back again. It’s a welcoming place with pools on site, and both the manager and waiters were friendly. They have a different menu each day. We ordered mixed paella one day and it was delicious, so the cook deserves congratulations.

The restaurant staff were mostly lovely, always attentive and pleasant. Vanessa was the exception, with a manner that felt like the opposite of friendly. The apartment stay itself was fine for the price, and half board did the job. The food tasted good, but the choices came around so often it felt like the same summer song on repeat. If you fancy testing your luck with the service, ask for Vanessa!

The gardens and pool were the best parts, and Santi was a great person. Breakfast, though, was horrible. The menu barely changed from day to day, and the supposed hot croissants were the only pastries and came frozen solid. The cold cuts were awful too. The two women working there were attentive and helpful, though I’m sorry I can’t remember their names. When they weren’t there, the man working would yawn, eat during breakfast, and make inappropriate comments. I wouldn’t go back even if it were free.
