The location was great, and breakfast was a real highlight, fresh and with lots to choose from. The daily cleaning was reliable and good too, though the room wasn't very clean when we arrived, and there was glass on the floor both then and after the repair work. We were disappointed overall. Our stay wasn't ruined, but after paying a lot for a week, we expected more from a small boutique hotel. We were moved to a family room at Can Vent Hotel around the corner as an “upgrade.” It looked impressive at first, with two floors, an exposed brick wall above the bed and a jacuzzi tub, but it felt more like an overbooking problem and an unready room. It wasn't clean enough, there was a used pantyliner in the bin, and basics like hand soap were missing. We also had to formally complain about the broken toilet seat and smashed glass at the bottom of the sliding toilet door. The jagged, hanging pieces seemed dangerous and meant the door wouldn't close. Since the toilet was only separated from the room by that broken glass door, it felt like part of the room, which was unpleasant. The man at reception was attentive and said a technician would come the next day. The seat was fixed promptly, but the glass door wasn't repaired until Wednesday after our Friday evening check-in, so it couldn't be shut for much of our stay. When we got back Wednesday evening, little shards had been left on the floor. The repair was just a piece of safety glass glued into the gap, which didn't make us confident in the door. The downstairs sofa bed area was very dark, with just one tiny, dim wall light, and quite warm without air conditioning. The tiled stairs seemed precarious for small children, and the glass divider at the top of the stairs was wobbly. Worth mentioning if a family books the room. We wouldn't recommend the hotel or stay again, but hope the hotel group takes this feedback to heart. A bit of attention to the room could have made for a very different experience.

The Wi-Fi was terrible, and breakfast didn't start until 8:30, which is rough for cyclists trying to beat the heat. The staff were unfriendly, with no offer to help carry bags up the 25 stairs, and there's no lift. The rooms aim for glamour, but the facilities aren't good. Glass walls around the bathroom leave nowhere for your things, there's no basin soap (we were told to use the shower gel), and the only bathroom mirror is a small shaving one on an extension arm.

Our ground-floor room was noisy. You could hear people coming through the front door and using the lobby restroom in way too much detail. The Wi-Fi sucked, though the not-so-friendly staff told us that's “normal” in some rooms. The room itself was quite nice, spacious and clean. Breakfast is served at a restaurant across the street and was okay.

The location is great, but the rest doesn't meet hotel standards. The Junior Suite wasn't up to standard either. It was on the ground floor with no balcony, and the Wi-Fi was so bad that working remotely wasn't possible. Staff were often unhelpful and misleading. Breakfast is put out for everyone in the morning, but in the heat it looks less appealing the later you arrive.
