Hotel Astoria Playa - Adults Only

The staff were the best part for us. They couldn’t have been nicer and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. That’s why we’re definitely coming back this year after another fantastic summer holiday at Astoria Playa last year, our second in Alcudia. The hotel is modern, clean and spacious, with everything you could need for a great holiday. The pools are excellent, and the beach is less than a five-minute walk away. Our room was beautiful and comfortable, the food and drink selection was outstanding, and there was great entertainment every evening. Highly recommended.

For the Ironman 70.3, the hotel opened breakfast at 04:30 for competitors, which was a really thoughtful touch. The half-board breakfast had loads of options, and dinners were varied and tasty, though the meats were often overdone. It’s a very sport and cycling-friendly place. They work with an on-site bike store for rentals, storage, repairs and washing, and there’s a small gym above it. Not having to bring the bike into the room was a huge convenience. The pool area has a great vibe with music and a bar, plus a separate quieter section. Adults only is a big plus. I stayed five nights and couldn’t have asked for more. The staff were genuinely warm and helpful, the hotel was clean and well maintained, and the rooms were comfortable and a good size. It’s easy to walk to the beach, shops and restaurants, and the nearby bus stop connects to Alcudia, Pollença and Palma. Despite being close to the main road, there was no road noise. It suits sporty guests and people after a relaxing pool holiday equally well. Highly recommend.

We chose half board while using Astoria Playa as our base for a week of cycling around the island, and it was worth every penny to me. There was a brilliant range of food each day, and we were taken aback by how much was on offer and how good it all tasted. The bike store on site made things very easy. I think it costs a little more, about €5 a day, than some other hire places, but having it there was super convenient. Our room was very clean and tidy, with the biggest bed I’ve ever seen and a great mattress, much appreciated after a day in the saddle. The staff were amazing, polite, friendly and helpful, and really made the stay. We had only minor gripes: one tiny bin in the toilet and small shower mats. That’s nit-picking, really. I’d absolutely recommend it to friends and family and will likely return.

The meals were beautifully presented and full of flavor, on a par with some of the best fine-dining restaurants we’ve visited. From the moment we arrived, a vibrant, young and professional team made us feel welcome. Everyone was kind and attentive throughout our stay.
