Can Simo Petit Hotel

We stayed in the suite, a neat renovated townhouse over two floors. The bath and sauna were wonderful, and the air conditioning worked well. The room was comfortable too.

Those stone walls gave the place a romantic feel, a bit like a house in Tuscany, and we really enjoyed our time in Alcudia. The hotel is well placed in the historic center, near shops and restaurants, but nights were quiet. We occasionally heard a neighbor showering. The staff handled our late check-in and very early check-out flexibly, and the cleaning person was attentive, with fresh sheets and towels each time. Air conditioning was a big help in the humidity, and I liked having two bathroom sinks. The hair dryer was frustrating, though, since it kept cutting out and took me ages to dry my hair. We also ate at the restaurant downstairs. The meat and wine were really good. No complaints otherwise, and thank you!

The staff were pleasant, but I wouldn't stay here again. We were there for 14 nights, and the room was next to or above a restaurant, so noise from downstairs kept disturbing our sleep. The toilet leaked a little and there was a constant urine smell. The air conditioning was quite loud. We also found a raisin on the table, which made the cleaning seem less than thorough. The double bed had one blanket, and my wife kept taking it from me. For roughly the last four nights, we were given a single-size blanket instead. Breakfast was the same each day, though you could ask for eggs prepared different ways.

Can Simon was a good choice, with a clean, comfortable room in a great spot in Alcudia's old town. Breakfast at Sa Mossegada, about 100 metres away, was very good. The reception is in another building the same distance away. You can't drive into the old town, but parking wasn't an issue: the free Alcudia Old City Parking is just a couple of minutes away. The bathroom was small, though the shower was big. The air conditioning wouldn't hold a middle setting, so it was either off or freezing. I'd recommend this hotel, but not their Hostal Ventura in Santanyi, which was a big disappointment.
