Hotel Viva Zafiro Alcudia

The suite was spacious, clean and very good overall, and there was a fantastic range of food available throughout the day. That was especially useful travelling as a family of three with a toddler. The entertainment team made the trip for our daughter. They were warm, personal and so attentive to her, and she had an amazing time because of them. We had a brilliant eleven-night stay at Zafiro Alcudia Palace, a genuinely five-star experience. Two changes would improve it for us: a more accessible booking system for the à la carte restaurants, and smart TVs so guests can stream or cast their own shows.

Our large family group visited in April 2026, and this was an easy, relaxed break that would suit many families. The staff made a great impression from the start. The gentleman running activities was particularly lovely with my toddler, chatting with him each day. On our last morning, as we waited for the shuttle, he came over and sat with him for a proper five-to-ten-minute conversation. That natural kindness really stood out and is the sort of thing that makes families want to return. The buffet offers a lot of variety, with different dinners each night and good choices for children. The pasta station was especially useful: kids could choose their pasta and have it plain or with one of several sauces. The adult dishes were less consistent for me. One evening I had tuna where one piece was cooked perfectly and another had clearly dried out while sitting. Timing matters at a buffet, and food is best when it has just been put out. We couldn't try the à la carte restaurant because it was fully booked and couldn't take our group. I think we'd have enjoyed it more, and letting people reserve a time at check-in could stop others missing out. Breakfast had a good range of self-service hot drinks and chilled fruit juices, but dinner drinks had to be ordered separately and cost extra. For a resort presenting itself as five-star and selling all-inclusive or half-board packages, that felt like a money-grabbing choice and took away from the experience. The entrance and lobby look very premium, but the rooms don't carry that finish through. Our junior suite was workable, though the layout wasn't ideal with one child in a cot and another on the pull-out bed under the sofa. Once they were asleep, we could only relax on the balcony; using the kitchenette or bathroom risked waking them. Rethinking the layout would help families a lot. It's a convenient, low-stress family break, with standout staff and plenty to keep children happy. Better room layouts and easier dining access would make it even better.

The hotel is modern, with friendly staff, a spacious clean room and lovely facilities including a gym, sauna and mini golf. We arrived after midnight following a long day of travel, and really appreciated the beautiful buffet and wine they'd left for us. The staff also made a special effort for our daughter's birthday, which made her day. There were a couple of downsides: the pools felt quite cold, and lunch and dinner were just okay. Breakfast, on the other hand, was a huge buffet.

We had a great time as a family, and the kids loved all the activities and the pirate ship at the children's pool. The food at Portico restaurant was amazing, with excellent service. Issam and Toni were so friendly and kind. You really should try the beef sirloin with pistachio crust, it was outstanding!
