YourHouse Alcudia Apartments

We found worms swimming around in the toilet, which smelled horrible, and the bedroom smelled of mold, so we slept in the living room. The two fans were filthy and we had to clean them ourselves. The beds were cheap and not great, though we could still sleep on them. There’s a car wash nearby, so breakfast on the terrace came with the sound of cars being washed and even some drops landing there. This place needs a lot of repairs and shouldn’t be on Airbnb. I’d pay a bit more for a better vacation.

I’ve stayed in cheap places before and can adapt, but this was by far my worst experience with Booking. I booked and paid for an apartment at YourHouse Alcudia for two adults and our 9-year-old child. When we arrived, only two beds were made up. There was a sofa bed, but no sheets for it, and towels were supplied for only two people. There was just half a roll of toilet paper, not enough for three people over three days, and only two cups. The French window was broken, the fridge was bad, and the general supply was very poor. I tried calling and messaging on WhatsApp, the same way they’d contacted me earlier to request documents, but got no reply. I asked for a third of what I paid to be refunded and heard nothing. There was no reception, so I had no one there to complain to.

It’s okay, and the room is cozy for a week away. It’s well equipped, with a washing machine in the kitchen, a shower, and plenty of cutlery and utensils. Just bear in mind it really is only a room, with no pool or other facilities, and I wouldn’t choose it with kids.

The apartment was a shock after all the beautiful pictures on Booking.com. It was awful, with nothing to cook with and not enough space for four people. The bathroom was rotting, and the owner didn’t help us find a solution. If you can, stay far away from this apartment.
