The course has opened up more options for me to use alongside my Chinese medicine therapies. África shared her knowledge so generously, and the online lessons were adapted to my needs and explained clearly right from the start. The simple recipes are easy for anyone to make. Learning herbal medicine and plant alchemy was fascinating. I recommend it wholeheartedly. Thank you, África.

We stayed in the yurt and were warm and comfortable by the fireplace. África made us feel right at home, and she’s such a thoughtful host. That welcoming feeling matters a lot to me. The whole place feels natural and cozy, just as you’d expect in the mountains. There are hiking trails to explore, and nearby villages have places to shop. I’d wanted to visit Casa Guindales for ages, and the weekend was amazing. The drive in is a little tricky 😂, but well worth it. I came away feeling completely relaxed and at peace. I’ll be back soon, and many more times.

The rooms are spacious and very clean, and África is lovely. It’s wonderfully quiet, with birds, sheep, and chickens to hear. There were lots of different flowers in the daytime, and stars at night. The kitchen is shared. In our “earth” room, the bathroom was outside, which could be uncomfortable on a cold night, though another room has its own bathroom. The village supermarket is about a half-hour walk uphill. I went with my three-and-a-half-year-old son, and it was quite an adventure for him. The path is beautiful and not difficult. The unpaved drive is a little tricky, but manageable if you go slowly and your car isn’t too low. I’d recommend this place if you want some peace and a little getaway.

We stayed here in summer and found the house very clean, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. The family running it were lovely and generous, and the atmosphere was really relaxed. It’s a great base for walking and hiking, and for visiting places such as Ronda or Juzcar. The drive down is a bit tricky, but worth it. A good choice for families or couples who enjoy getting out for walks.
