Baluart Apartments

We rented a small apartment for two nights, with a bedroom, bathroom, and combined kitchen-living room. It was comfortable and recently renovated. The old town, main square, and Caceres Museum are all within walking distance, along with the main historic sights.

Just a short block from the Plaza Mayor and a stone's throw from the Casco Hístorico, the location is hard to beat. Check-in and check-out were easy, and they kindly kept my suitcase after checkout at no charge. The modern room was spotless and comfortable, with a top-notch mattress, nice linens, and a large modern bathroom with a walk-in shower. There's also a kitchenette with a two-burner range, fridge, microwave, and basic pots, pans, and tableware, though I didn't cook while I was there. There aren't amenities beyond housekeeping, and no food or drink options in-house. Still, a café for morning coffee and a tapas bar are just steps away. I highly recommend the “Campo” tostada at La Tapería, a bargain at 7.50€. Even during Womad, a women's music festival, the price was quite reasonable, and on a regular weekend it's even lower. A very pleasant surprise, and I'd stay again without hesitation.

It looks okay at first, but most things don't work as they should. The sofa bed is very small, the AC only cools the living room, and the kitchen doesn't have enough equipment for cooking.

Comfortable and clean, with a great spot for a family.
