El Bahía

The hostel is right on the beach, which is the one good thing, but there’s no supermarket nearby. Even getting water means walking 10-15 minutes. The room feels like it’s from the 1950s, with no air conditioning, and summer heat is unbearable. The owners tried to charge 50 pounds for towel use and expected the towels to be as clean as new. Very cheap and dodgy, with no manners or service.

We booked a suite and had a lovely sea view, plus air conditioning, a small living room, and a little fridge that was handy for cooling drinks. The balcony was small but romantic, with a sea breeze. The hostel is right by the water, so you can get up and go for a swim, and the staff were kind, from the receptionist to the gentle cleaning team. The owner has a warm, smiling nature and puts a lot of time and energy into constantly renovating the place in a cozy style. I enjoyed the details he chose. We had a great view room and really enjoyed our stay. A few meters away there are lots of cerenguito, a little market, and taxi and bus stops, so getting to the city center is easy. They have a really good 3 chocolate cake, don’t miss it. We asked them to call a taxi each day and they did it quickly. When I had an asthma problem, the housekeeper helped by taking me straight to a doctor. The place is lovely and the staff are very kind. We got 100% service and will be back.

A horrible place. The rooms look nothing like the pictures, and they’re tiny and smell bad. Be careful, the hotel will charge your credit card for the first night if you don’t stay there.
