Medsur-Alone Hotel

The food was delicious and plentiful. It's geared toward Spanish guests, which suited me since I wanted Spanish food while in Spain. Staff were all so friendly, and the bar overlooking the pool was lovely. The beach is about an eight-minute walk away. The entertainment is mainly aimed at Spanish speakers, but some of it is visual, so that was fine. I thoroughly enjoyed the stay and hope to return next year.

The hotel itself is nice, and the barmaids on previous days were really pleasant even though they spoke little English. But our last day didn't turn into the relaxing cocktails we'd hoped for. The toilet had flooded our room and the hallway after it had been fixed the day before, and then a plumber was working on it while we had to get ready to leave. The grumpy barman also refused to give me loyalty stamps for my cocktails and shooed me out of the bar. If they don't want guests in that area, the sign should be in English too. I'm waiting for my transfer now.

We felt at home here, even though the staff didn't speak much English. They were really nice, and the hotel was very clean. The Spanish food was tasty, the pool was quiet, and it's close to Benidorm. Most of the entertainment was in Spanish, apart from Alice, the only entertainer who spoke English. She's charming and very funny. We had a fantastic time joining her musical quiz, and the shows were great. We'll come back someday.

We really enjoyed the varied dishes at each meal, and the meal plan felt well worth it. We’d heard it let us eat at either Hotel alone and Hotel Tropic, but that turned out not to be true. The room was spotless and the beds were comfortable. Ours didn’t have a fridge, which was a shame, though that’s my only complaint about the hotel itself. The pool at hotel Alone was great, and so were the cool bubble pools. Parking is limited, but there’s plenty of free street parking across the main road, a little way up the hill. Fun place to stay.
