Hotel Exe Isla Cartuja

We paid the full amount through Booking, but on arrival they still took our Visa card as a guarantee. The room had nothing in it, not even water, so we asked for an iron. They wanted a 10 euro guarantee for that too, to make sure we'd return it. If you don't trust your guests, why list rooms for booking? The hotel is inside the stadium, which made it hard to find at first, and the older man at the desk wasn't welcoming. A total waste of money.

The rooms were clean, but the blankets felt stiff and overwashed. We were short two blankets and were told there weren't any more, and it was very hard to get service. The AC didn't work either. We couldn't find the hotel entrance by car: Google and Waze were lost, and two front desk agents gave us different directions. We never found it and had to do some strange things to get inside.

Free parking was the one upside. The location felt remote and inconvenient, with nothing nearby. Reception was good, but breakfast was disappointing. The continental spread was average, the orange juice dispenser was empty and nobody refilled it, and the server was rude and gave terrible service. They even asked us to leave at 10:00, although breakfast ran until 10:30. I wouldn't recommend it.

The staff were helpful and we could get hot water from the restaurant in the morning, though there was no kettle or iron in the room. The rooms were okay, but the bathrooms need attention: water leaked past the shower doors. The location is a little out of the way, but we knew that when we booked.
