Jose Antonio was attentive and available whenever we needed something, while still giving us space and time. Breakfast was typically Spanish: toast with butter and jam or chopped tomato with olive oil, plus sponge cake, fruit, and yogurt. Inside, even with temperatures of 38 C outside, the hotel stayed cool without air conditioning. There are ceiling fans, but we didn’t need them. It’s fairly close to the center of Almaden, easy to explore on foot, and also convenient by car, with little fuss about parking. The Renaissance-style decor makes the place feel like stepping into the 19th century and seeing how kings and queens lived. Every detail, from reception and the inner patio to the rooms, is exquisite. If you’re a history geek, you’ll love it.

The owner José is always happy to help, so don’t hesitate to ask for anything. The service was the best imaginable, and breakfast was to die for. It’s a lovely place to relax, with a beautiful room and an enchanting house. Highly recommended. We’ll be back to enjoy the fantastic hospitality again.

I live in Almadén and can say this is a good rural hotel, especially if you want a countryside stay beside the mountains. It has several rooms and a bar, plus air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and a library.

The manager spoke good English and was helpful. The building is absolutely amazing inside, and all the doors are so interesting. I’d come back.
