Casas Rurales El Comendador de Almagro

For our group of 15 over the May bank holiday, this house worked out brilliantly. It’s a spectacular place with everything we needed, and we even got to swim in the pool. Definitely recommend it.

With seven bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, this beautiful house is just right for a break with family or friends. Highly recommended.

We rented the whole country house for a weekend with several couples and kids, and had a great stay. Every room has an en-suite bathroom, which gives you privacy, while the patio, barbecue setup, decor, and furnishings make it feel like a country home. The staff were excellent and the place was impeccably clean. It really brings together the comforts of a hotel and the ease of a country house. We’ll come back.

The house itself is lovely and sits right in the center of Almagro, close to supermarkets. Rooms are spacious, each with air conditioning and a private bathroom, and the personalized towels were a nice touch. The door code was especially practical for our large group, since people could come and go without managing a key. A few things took away from the stay. We found lots of cockroaches in several bathrooms, and the pool was quite a bit smaller than it looked in the website photos. The tap water tasted like iron and wasn’t drinkable. The downstairs bathroom also had a nasty problem: what was flushed there came out through the pool shower. The refrigerator didn’t cool, and in a house this large, one fridge made it hard to keep food cold for everyone. Staying past 2:00 PM costs an extra 60 euros. The owner was very friendly when we raised all of this and said he’d do what he could to fix it.
