Aire Hotel & Ancient Baths

I really don’t recommend this hotel. The rooms were disappointing, cleanliness was poor, and the mattresses need replacing. Reception staff were so rude and could be much friendlier. It seems they rely on the spa and location, while the rest falls short.

The spa was the one bright spot, lovely as always, and the front desk staff there were friendly and helpful. They didn’t seem surprised when I raised what had happened with the manager. The rest of the hotel left us wanting to get out as soon as we could. We’d been excited to stay after visiting AIRE in Sevilla, and booked a junior suite with breakfast and spa access. After breakfast, my partner went to lie by the pool. He’s unwell and quickly fell asleep, then a staff member woke him and said he shouldn’t be there or have eaten any Food, and demanded proof he was staying. It felt like he was being treated as homeless and accused of taking advantage of the facilities. When I followed it up, it became clear the person who’d said this was the manager. She was curt and incredibly rude, then eventually apologized and admitted she’d got it wrong. Still, it was upsetting and left a bitter taste. Their only goodwill offer was an extra hour after checkout, but we just wanted to leave. Other hotel staff were pretty rude too. On the rooftop, a male worker sat right beside us while we were relaxing, taking Teams calls with loud notifications pinging. I came on holiday to get away from Microsoft Teams 😅. He’d been rude throughout the stay, never smiling or saying hi, and barging around. The hotel feels disconnected from its customers, as if guests are an inconvenience and they don’t see that we’re why they have a job. The room was okay, though some design choices made it uncomfortable and not very functional. It needs a proper deep clean, and the coffee machine was full of mold, so watch out if you use it. Go for the spa, but avoid the hotel like the plague.

The rooftop area was great, especially the heated pool, and the hotel is well placed for bars and restaurants. Would recommend.

The heated rooftop pool was amazing, and the location was great. The downside was the transparent bathroom door, which meant there was no privacy.
