We enjoyed our time here, and you might too, but it’s cheap rather than great value. Even at forty-odd euros a night, it felt a bit pricey. The historic centre is a pleasant walk one way, and the beach is within walking distance too. Desk staff were polite enough, and our room had a nice balcony. The owner of this big old building seems to have settled on how a pension should run back in 1980 and never changed it. The rooms weren’t very clean. Some sockets and switches had been pulled out or made unusable, presumably to save electricity. The advertised 'air conditioning' was just a ceiling fan. There was a strange smell from the shower, and I wouldn’t go into the dark pit they call the communal 'salon'.

I spotted bedbugs as soon as I arrived, but decided to sleep there anyway. By morning I had blood marks from the bites, luckily only one on my body and four on my head. I told the desk clerk, but got no compensation.

For the price, it was good. The receptionists were polite and helpful, and everything is close by in this very central spot. The beach is a short walk away. My room was fairly small and dated, but otherwise top marks.

It was okay for a cheap stay, since there aren’t many inexpensive places in Almeria. The station is very close, though the centre is a walk away, even if Almeria is small. The staff were friendly and cleaned the rooms every day, but they didn’t speak any English. The interior is old, and Wi-Fi only worked downstairs.

The staff were lovely. The hotel was good, though the room was pretty much what you’d expect for the price.
