Camping La Aldea

Seville was lovely to visit, but I wouldn’t make the trip from this site again. It takes an hour to drive, parking is poor for anything over 2 m tall, and about 20 km of the road to and from the site is badly surfaced. The staff weren’t very helpful when we asked about getting there by bus or train, so we drove. Pitches are a reasonable size, mostly flat and separated by low hedges, but there’s little or no shade. Electricity and water can be several pitches away, and the ground is sandy and dusty. There were billions of flies. Bathrooms are tired but clean and functional. The pool is good, though the area around it is a bit untidy. There’s a restaurant on site, but we didn’t try it. We stayed three nights as a base for visiting Seville.

The park nearby was wonderful, and we saw flamingos there. There’s a nice pool and the staff are friendly. The showers are a little old, and the caravan pitches are dusty, though you can wash the dust off your car. The Wi-Fi didn’t work well. Unless we were near reception, we got kicked off every few seconds.

Facilities were very clean, and the staff were really helpful. The restaurant looked popular, but its 20:00 start was a little late for us. We only stayed a short walk, about 15 minutes, from town. Wish we’d booked a few more days. A great site for visiting El Rocio.

We stayed for four nights in mid-May, before the festival, as a couple aged 69 and 70 with a car, caravan, and electric bikes. Check-in was friendly and efficient, with our pitch assigned. It was a good size with little hedges for privacy, and there were plenty of very clean showers and toilets. The pool was lovely and peaceful at that time of year. The site itself is great, but the sand may not suit you. My husband doesn’t like it, though we both enjoyed the stay. La Rocio is one of a kind, with sand for roads, like a beach, so don’t try cycling into town. Take a horse if you have one! We didn’t eat at the restaurant, so can’t comment. I’d recommend staying here at least once on a tour of southern Spain.
