The location is remarkable, and the whole town looks like a Mexican Wild West movie set, with lots of people riding horses along sandy roads and hitching rails outside most properties. The rooms are VERY small, though comfortable. If you’re travelling by motorcycle like I was, watch out, those soft sandy roads are really difficult to ride on.

We had a great time. The people and the service were both great, absolutely amazing.

The women working there were lovely, and the room was a pleasant surprise after I’d worried over the negative reviews. It was clean and had that El Rocío house smell, a spacious bathroom, a small street-facing balcony, and a large bed that was fairly comfortable. I stayed two nights, having booked because the rest of the village was full. The guesthouse is practically on the outskirts, though the hermitage is only a 15-minute walk away. With no breakfast and that location, the price felt a bit high compared with better-located El Rocío guesthouses that include breakfast. I’d happily come back, but I’d have to think about the price, especially outside peak season. It was a pleasure meeting you all, and I hope we meet again on the sands.
