Hotel Bahia de Almunecar

Lovely hotel, though a few things we expected were missing. There was no tea or coffee machine in the room, no pool bar, and our room didn’t have a smart TV.

We spent most of our time making the most of the facilities, which made this a great value family break. The rooms weren’t perfect, but the friendly atmosphere at Hotel Bahia Almuñécar during our event weekend was lovely. The food and outdoor amenities worked well for the whole family, and the kids’ activities, pool, and monitors were a nice surprise that kept our little ones busy.

The rooms are spotless, spacious, and well appointed. But the restaurant experience is letting the hotel down badly. There aren’t enough tables for the number of guests, and dinner tables often don’t have proper cutlery, just a knife and fork. Food isn’t replenished when it runs out, so you have to queue like it’s school dinners. The dining room is unpleasant and has a terrible atmosphere, so we’ve started going out to eat in the evenings. I’ve spoken to lots of people who feel the same. This needs sorting immediately. It’s like a sinking ship, and I won’t stay here again. Definitely not even three stars for the dining.

The hotel has lots of lounges and a wonderful spa, which I made full use of and really enjoyed. Staff were very helpful and changed our room because, with my back disability, I needed a bath rather than a shower to help me relax. They also have special offers that can make a beach holiday affordable.
